IN FOND MEMORY
On this page we remember those NMGenweb Volunteers who are no longer with us in this life, for their dedication to NM Genealogy and their friendship.

HAROLD ARLIN KILMER
1932 - 2015

Harold was the NMGenWeb State Coordinator for many years. He led and supported the volunteers with skill, kindness and a wicked sense of humor. Harold was knowledgeable and helpful to us all. We will miss him as we do our best to carry on in the tradition of the “Wild Bunch” as he named the volunteers.

Harold Arlin Kilmer, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on May 9, 2015, at his home in Clovis.

Harold was involved in many clubs and organizations including the Historical and Genealogy foundations, Lyceum Theater of Clovis, and the Oldest House in Clovis at the Curry County Fairgrounds restorations and operation. He was very active in New Mexico history and genealogy internet websites. Harold was also very active in music. He played the violin until very recently with the Friends of Bluegrass of Farwell, TX, Baxter Hall senior center at Clovis, and the Curry County Outlaws (a local country music group).

Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Cicely; his brother, Gerald; his parents, William and Phyllis. Harold is also preceded in death by his dear friend, Jan Evans.

Harold is survived by his son, John; four nephews; one niece; twenty-two great (great) nephews and nieces; and his sister-in -law.

Patricia Ann "Pat" Bennett
April 23, 1941 - December 14, 2016

Pat hosted Grant and Hidalgo Counties early in our project. She was expert in networking
in her community and had resources ready for visitors to Grant and Hidalgo Counties.
Pat had a passion for helping others research their families, and it showed! Whenever we
needed a hand with something in the project, Pat was there. She served on our Election
Committee for years. We knew we could always count on Pat.

Elsa Altshool

Elsa was the first County Coordinator for Doña Ana County in
NMGenWeb. Elsa was expert in research in her county, knew where the
resources were, and delivered answers to researchers who visited her county website.
Her ready wit and energy contributed to our Wild Bunch community spirit.
Elsa was well-acquainted with the libraries in her area and wasn’t afraid to use them!
